Thanks for all your comments. I hung a black sheet on the wall and put a small black stool underneath it in the corner. Then I hung that wall hanging my son had over it for the background, and put a comforter on the floor with that little stool with the lava lamp and the candle for some depth. Then, my son sat on the stool in the "Lotus position." I did "spot exposure" and underexposed it just a little to make the sheet disappear.

...errrrr, no wait. That's not what I did at all! I walked into the room and found my son levitating so I grabbed my camera! Yeah! THAT WAS IT!!!

It's actually done by jumping down from the stone bench, and yes, using fast shutter speed to freeze the moment

excellent job! how did you get him to jump and position himself so perfectly lol, it is amazing , how many tries did it take?

We only did 3 or 4 with the camera on rapid fire. he listened to instructions, as he was keen to get back on the computer.

It happens the same to me when I read the "oxford concise" LOL, great shot, very good work!
