In this photography contest your goal is to enter shots of a tool and the trade it is being used on. It must be on the job! For example, you could photograph a hammer in use by a carpenter, a mason's trowel being used to spread mud on a wall by a brick layer, a mechanic using a wrench on an engine or even a technical support operator with his headset.
A tool must be the focus and it has to be obvious that it's being used on the job it was designed for, or it is off theme. Studio shots are not allowed. Have fun and good luck!

An idol maker gives shape to a clay face which would later adorn the clay image of Durga...a much revered Hindu deity.
For him, his hands, a vessel of water and lumps of clay are the tools of his trade... (5 years and 2931 days ago)
Very nice. I like the concentration of what looks like something that's almost second nature to him. I think the B&W helps the shot too

thank u kyricom...i agree...the b&w does enhance the spirit of the photo...i believe by doing away with colours the mood of solemn concentration is highlighted more effectively...it also gives a feeling of mystery to the situation...the mysteries of the secrets of creation....as i look at it..

Nice shot. I like the huge number of bricks in the background. I think the box she is holding is the tool. It's either the actual mold to form the bricks, or even if it's what's used to carry them over it would be classified as a "tool."
This is a great photo. It would have been awesome to see the hammer focused. I really like the black and white and face. Shows the subject is focused but content with his trade.

Light was pretty dim, but I quite like the movement of the hand and hammer.
