Fabulous color and clarity, I feel like I could reach out and touch it. Very well done!

vry nice picture really shows the cracked painting well
It looks like a Greek-Orthodox icon, but then I may be wrong. Excellent find, also well captured nevertheless.
I'm not sure, it's the Prophet Samuel, From the Mikhailovskr Monastery of Kiev. Fresco hangs in the Hermitage, St. Petersburg.
Lucky you! Then for sure Christian Orthodox.

Not sure why you would photograph a painting with I imagine vibrant colours, in black and white.
They were too bright for my taste. Well maybe I should have tried to softened them up somehow. Next time...
A young student's early attempt at oil in 1934 Should have keep it up years later. (5 years and 2947 days ago)
This is such an awesome painting, I just wish it wasn't angled so hard. The gilded frame dominates the image, rather than the painting itself.
Re-submitted with a softer angle...It's so hard to justify a straight on entry, but this is hopefully better. I think that frame is also from 1935.
Fabulous color and clarity, I feel like I could reach out and touch it. Very well done!
