Take a photograph of 1 tree, one tree only. No other trees are allowed in the photo. The tree needs to be alive and growing. No humans nor animals either.
Contest Moderator: PLEASE READ THE GUIDELINES!!!! Do Not Use the Thumbnail as a reference...the guidelines state NO OTHER TREES ALLOWED IN THE PHOTO! Any photos showing more than 1 (ONE) tree will be removed, this includes trees in the background... ( 5 years and 2879 days ago )
traxalot: So sorry wasn't thinking about the background trees just the sunrise as the backdrop ( 5 years and 2878 days ago )
DYNOSSAURUS: so sorry too, but I see some trees in some shots... ( 5 years and 2878 days ago )
Contest Moderator: Seriously people, in just a few days I have been forced to remove nearly 25 entries that included more than 1 tree...Contrary to what some people think, Mods DO NOT ENJOY removing entries from contests. Removing this many entries takes a considerable amount of time and energy that could be better spent helping members in other ways.
Quite simply put....if your photo has more than a SINGLE (1, One, Un, Uno, Ein) tree, than PLEASE for the love of all things Holy...DON'T POST IT! ( 5 years and 2875 days ago )

thanks everyone for the nice comments... and yes Ichappell, it was a very cold day, lots of frost and fog everywhere...had to get with in 750 ft or so before I could see the tree clearly.
fyi ... they are now building a school on the grounds where this tree is...as per the sale of the land, the tree must stay. When the school opens, there will be a picture of this tree hanging in the halls, as I donated a 20x30 to the school of this picture and they graciously accepted
Extremely nice. I love the soft focus and exposure. I don't know if this has been cropped or not, but if you have more, you might leave just a little more sky on the top and left, and then even more space on the right. Don't get me wrong, though, this is a great shot! GL
author says:
Thank you, you three... the photo was not cropped, unfortanetly and if the opportunity would present itself again I would deffently leave more room all the way around. Artifakts, none taken, it is the goal of most photographs to get an emotional reaction, sorry that yours is sad..we can chalk it up to being a Monday LOL
great b/w shot...love the composition/placement of the tree, the horizon brings you right to the tree and the clouds really enhance the overall shot... well done

Well if you have a question to the validity of this photo or any photos then use the redflag system. That BUSH is just that. A bush. Sorry you got yours removed but a lot have been and it just helps authors to be more intune with a shot as a whole.
focus on the tree looks a bit off, and the birght light in the middle of the pic makes me wonder if it wasn't a night light project that the tree was apart of it. nice photo thanks for sharing
stunning!
This certainly going to the favs folder. Very nice job here.
I like the fence in the front. The darker clarity of it helps a lot. Very nice, I just wish the tree wasn't quite so centered
very nice, must be freezing fog
