Multiple exposure is the superimposition of two or more individual exposures to create a single photograph. The exposure values may or may not be identical to each other. Unless you have a camera that was designed to do this, you're most likely going to have to use photoshop to put your pictures together.
You must limit it to 2 images, and blending only, using the complete images, e.g no masks, and MUST supply the images in an SBS.
You are not allowed to mask, selectively remove, etc. Basically you take one image.... put it on top and lower the opacity or change blend mode.
To keep it simple and allow an SBS.... this should be done out of camera.
Barracuda: Could you give more guidelines what is and isn't allowed? I have some ideas, but worried this could easily become more of a Photoshop competition rather than photography. Great theme though, can’t wait to see the entries for this one. ( 5 years and 2919 days ago )
kyricom: This is a cool idea, but I'm afraid it'll just be a photoshop contest ( 5 years and 2919 days ago )

Barbara Watson: Not many cameras can do this in camera, and those that do are not great at it, so this does become pretty much a photoshop contest. ( 5 years and 2918 days ago )
bjaockx: it does not become a photoshop contest. you can not cut out any portion of the original image, only layer them on top of each other and the top one would have a blending effect layer added, which i would guess that either, overlay, screen, or multiply will work the best.
The idea here is to find 2 images that you have taken that will blend well together when effected in only this minimal way. I think it is a great idea, and it will take some careful moderation, and a keen eye in voting. ( 5 years and 2918 days ago )
Greenacres: Sorry not a fan of this comp. There seems to be quite a few lately that require photoshop, which excludes people like me who don't know how to use it ( 5 years and 2918 days ago )
Friend: What if it's possible to do double exposure in my camera? How to provide step-by-step if camera joins images automatically? ( 5 years and 2918 days ago )
kyricom: I can do this in my camera... but if I do a true double exposure it would be impossible to provide the seperate photos in a SBS. ( 5 years and 2918 days ago )
friiskiwi: "You must limit it to 2 images,"
I can't see any reason why you can't do it in the camera, just be sure to put the original unedited image in the SBS ( 5 years and 2918 days ago )
TwilightMuse: Couldn't this be done by using a slow shutter too? ( 5 years and 2917 days ago )
smokebigbird: ok so how do u do it with just ur camera, or who do u do this in photoshop ? ( 5 years and 2917 days ago )
TwilightMuse: Are you able to erase parts of the image? It says blending is acceptable. And when I blend I might erase. I know you can't select the image and paste. ( 5 years and 2917 days ago )

TwilightMuse: I love the surreal aspect of these entries, really enjoying this contest. ( 5 years and 2916 days ago )
libertysgems: I love it too; some of the most beautiful and interesting contest entries I have ever seen. I'll be borrowing some of these ideas... ( 5 years and 2916 days ago )
