Post a shot of something that has a natural gradient. It can be a flower, the sky, fruit, or any kind of plant... your choice! The subject with the gradient can't be man-made - it must be natural.
carmen: I do not understand the phrase 'natural gradient'; can someone explain please? ( 5 years and 2908 days ago )
Contest Moderator: Gradient is the subtle change across the image or item in colour and or light. To qualify as a gradient there should not be any sudden sharp changes in colour.
Natural means it has to be something found in nature, not man made.
If somebody has a better explanation, please contribute. ( 5 years and 2907 days ago )
Contest Moderator: Looking at the images, we are going to have a lot of discussions on this. I will remark on some of the photos to give you an idea of what we are looking for.
I'm only remarking on the graduation, not the quality of the photograph.
It would also be a good idea if you tell us about why you feel your photo displays a natural gradient in the description.
Remember we are looking for colours and light not hills. ( 5 years and 2907 days ago )
carmen: Thanks for the explanation. After having a look at your comments I can now understand what it is. ( 5 years and 2907 days ago )

Thanks everyone. My very first win. I once read in a photography magazine where a famous National Geographic photographer was told when he was just starting out decades ago that he has nothing to prove. He should however improve. Thanks again.

Your image doesn't need to be enormous, anything between 2.5mg and 3.5mg is plenty big enough.

Thanks friiskiwi. It's a wonder how the blues graduated at the top, the yellows graduated at the bottom and the greys graduated in the middle.
Taught me a new word today. Thanks! (really nice shot, too)
Thanks kyricom and you are most welcome
Congratulations!
