The Lincoln War Memorial in Edinburgh's Old Calton Cemetery erected in 1893. It was built in memory of the Scottish soldiers who fought in the American Civil war. It is said to be the first monument outside of the USA to the American president. (5 years and 2817 days ago)

This hometown memorial is dedicated to local military family members who were lost to wars. I've been temped to take shots of people sitting on the benches, but I decided instead to respect their moment of remberence. (5 years and 2817 days ago)

There is a small village near us that is a well-known stop on the "underground railroad." Every year they have ceremonies commemorating the brave people who helped slaves run to safety. This memorial was dedicated in 1880 to the soldiers who died in the Civil War. The four sides have "Charity, Loyalty, Fraternity, and Bravery." It is dedicated to the brave men who died to "preserve the Constitution and end slavery." (5 years and 2816 days ago)
