Recently in our "Latest Blog Posts", we had a post titled Photography: The Most Amazing Cloud Formations Ever Captured. Now it's time for us here at Pxleyes to capture some amazing clouds, but there is a twist: Turn your pictures of clouds into a panorama. Horizons allowed. Show us all the pictures you have used in your SBS (as many as you want, but minimum 3). Have fun and good luck!
2/3 of the photo need to be of the sky, Above the horizon.
kyricom: Should we have an SBS with the 3 shots? ( 5 years and 2781 days ago )
EmiK: With at least 3 pictures, yes kyricom =) ( 5 years and 2780 days ago )
kyricom: Are we considering "stitching" shots together different than a "panorama?" I see a panorama as much more horizontal - "panning" across the horizon. ( 5 years and 2780 days ago )
meatman: how do you combine 3 photographs other then stitching them ? Then if ya stitch them, does the camera keep the initial pics or just the final stitch? ( 5 years and 2780 days ago )
kyricom: There are a number of ways to combine shots, and I guess they could all be called "stitching." I was just referring to the end product. To me (and just to me, I guess) some with combined shots that keep generally the same ratio of an average photo aren't really any different than just taking a step back and snapping a hot with a broader field of vision. A panorama (again, just to me, I guess) is a broader (longer) horizontal perspective. Horizon - horizontal. To me, "panorama" takes its name from "panning," or the action of moving the camera (mainly in television or movies originally) in a horizontal motion along the horizon, resulting in a longer end result. I don't know if any of this is actually correct, but it's what I always thought. ( 5 years and 2780 days ago )
nem: Mark, I think you got it perfectly right … "panorama" is ancient Greek and it means "see all" (pan = all, horan = see). However, I'd accept vertical panoramas in this sense as well … Sometimes clouds build nicely vertically and I wouldn't deny a beautiful sight because panning direction hasn't been "wide" but "high". My 2% of course … ( 5 years and 2780 days ago )
meatman: how is one to combine 3 or more images besides in-camera stitching ? photoshopping ?? ( 5 years and 2780 days ago )
EmiK: Here is a nice tutorial I found for you guys on making a panorama photos. http://mansurovs.com/panoramic-photography-howto ( 5 years and 2780 days ago )
EmiK: Also a link to all our other panoramic photography contests here on Pxleyes.

EmiK: I think that last link didn't work, but here is another. http://www.pxleyes.com/photography-contest/11448/panoramas.html ( 5 years and 2780 days ago )
Contest Moderator: have been away, so apologise for the late clarification. The final image has to be stitched together as a panorama, horizontally or vertically. There are many different programs that will do that, or in some cases it can be done in camera. Either way you have to put all the images used into the SBS, minimum 3 images.
As this is about clouds, I expect at least 2/3rd of the photo to be of the sky. The theme photo would be off theme.
Both vertical and horizontal panoramas are OK ( 5 years and 2779 days ago )
friiskiwi: I can see us being in for a week of clear blue skies. ( 5 years and 2778 days ago )
lincemiope: hard to choose .. so many beautiful photos..fine contest ( 5 years and 2774 days ago )

Looks like the beginning of a "Ghost Busters" beach assignment. Well done. How's the fishing?
nice shot
Dreamy! Way to go, author!
Nice...this is quality work...very well done entry
brava
Indeed, great work =)
Nice composition, but the HDR effect is a bit too heavy, with the clouds looking too grayed out, while the building is a bit too highlighted.
Someday you'll learn.
Congrats
Beautiful. Wide angle lens? It was a perfect choice. Congrats.
Ty very much! It was just the 18-200mm. I took three shots at different positions and combined them with pse.
