Pamukkale's terraces are made of travertine, a sedimentary rock deposited by water from the hot springs. The deposits are calcium carbonate, although it looks remarkably like ice and snow.

Cool. I think I would crop out the feet (and thus the dark edge) in the upper right and the odd T-shaped thing in the lower left plus boost the contrast a bit for more drama.

I wish that I had captured the people better to show the scale of the size of the deposits. All I had was feet, but I left them in for that reason. The dark blob is the shadow of a bird. The place is so bizarre, I thought that it all added to the strangeness. As for a contrast boost, I think that you are absolutely right. I have increased and I think that it has improved the image.Thanks for your thoughts.
