This tournament runs for 4 weeks, week 1 is 'open for all', which means everyone can enter. Week 2 only the top 16 members of week 1 will be able to participate, week 3 the top 8 members of week 2 and in week 4 the top 4 members of week 3. The winner of round 4 will be crowned king or queen of Pxleyes! This final round's winner will be awarded with $100!
Week 2, 3 and 4 will be posted on Thursdays but will be opened for entries on Sundays after the previous round is closed, when the next participants are known. If you participate, be aware you might have to re-enter next rounds too!
This weeks theme is: on a bench 2
I saw a photo today that was wonderful but simple. It was a man sitting on a bench. He was wearing a suit and his tie looked like a small black stripe. It matched the wood slats in the bench.
Of course the quality of the photo was a very important factor. Take a professional looking photo of someone on a bench (like a park bench). Only one person on the bench and in the photo. Please try to make this as professional as possible! As if you were selling it to a magazine or a company for an ad.
Clarification:
- a bench is supposed for at least 2 people to sit on.
- sofas and couches are not allowed.
Members allowed to enter this contest are:
captgeo
itsmymoment
friiskiwi
Karol
Reserves:
1. BeSea
2. alexx.files
Reserves are allowed to enter their entry at any point in this round, if at closing time one or more qualified members did not enter, the entries of the reserves will be allowed to go into the voting period. Reserve 1 will be allowed to stay when 1 qualified member does not enter, reserve 2 will also be allowed to stay if 2 qualified members do not enter.
Congrats for making this final round to you all and good luck.

It's truly wonderful shot. I was expecting there was a "ray" coming through the window on the subject, but this current shot itself has incredible feeling. Well done
Really nice natural back light on your model.
I don't know if an other angle was possible (so you loose the white wall on the top & right of your frame).See your frame is well balanced (as it comes to black/gray/white tones) & those big white areas are a little bit distracting.
It doesn't mean that is bad .
Very nice light metering & really great deep blacks.
I wish you all the best.

I really appreciate it karaflazz,I can't reshoot it though. Still, thank you, there's always something to learn in your comments
Love this photo! perfect light, perfect timing, I just think it would be really cool if she were sitting on the bench with a guy, but besides that this is still a great photo!

The goal said only one person... and that is "my love" (wife) LOL... better not be anyone else on the bench with her
Great blur and use of the heart hole on focus. Is a pity because of the dark glow on the leaves and the tree, but it is still romantic and impressive. Good luck!
A bit underexposed i think (or it might be the shadows under & behind the bench that tricks me).
If you had move a few steps back, you could include the whole fishing pole in your frame.
Nice b&w though.
Good luck with the finals!!!
author says:
Actually, I think you are correct...I adjusted the exposure a bit and brightened the image...Thank You
With the fishing pole, I actually wanted it to cut across the image to kinda separate the sleeping fisherman from the lake...since he's not really "AT" the lake, but off in his own world at that moment.
Thanks for you input, but the shot was taken before sunrise...it WAS dark, that would be like saying a night shot is dark...of course it is...it's dark out. Sorry to sound blunt, but, it's just factual. Some shots/subjects will just be inherently darker than others.
