It is called Pukeko here, very much like what you call Swamp birds I think but your swamp birds have much bigger feet.
How are you coping with the heat? Any danger of bush fires where you are?
Nice idea, the photo not the gift. I do feel the background is too overpowering, love it, but.. Might have been better if the 'Melon man' who is should be the main object, wasn't quite so dark.
