Tide does not fall, it recedes
Around here, we call it a falling tide, not a receding tide.
When the tide falls, the harbour becomes much smaller. (5 years and 2466 days ago)

Faire enough, Language is such an interesting thing.
If "recede" and "fall" could be used interchangeably, then I suppose a person committing suicide by jumping from a high building "receded" to his death?
I'm not sure that anyone said those words could be used interchangeably in all matters, but when it comes to tides, they rise and fall. Wikipedia Tides are the rise and fall of sea levels caused by the combined effects of the gravitational forces exerted by the Moon and the Sun and the rotation of the Earth."
This is a fallen tide, soon to rise.
I've used rise and fall too for the sea level . This place looks so peaceful.
Think I'd have preferred more sky left in the photo, or less, it seems a bit strange as it is. Good luck.
I think that the strange look comes from using a wide angle lens and taking the photo high up on a pier. The focus was supposed to be on the mud flats.
My uncle must have a "falling" hairline

very pretty, but the focus seems to be further back in the photo.
Darn, I think you're right. the foreground seems soft indeed. I'll reshoot next fall.
I hate it when that happens, it's still pretty .
