The original technique invented by Michael Orton was to overlay two or more images of an identical scene with very different exposures on slide film. One image is sharply focused and the others are very out of focus.
Here you find 4 photos, your job in this contest is to make a photo entry like this.
You'll need to post 4 photos in the SBS in this order: 1. Original photo 2. Lightened to produce "overexposed" image 3. Overexposed image blurred out of focus. 4. The final result of how your image looks after you put them together in Photoshop (or similar program) and blended both images together. Of course your final result also needs to be put up as a entry.
The use of Photoshop (or similar program) to create step 2 and 3 is allowed as well, this means you can use a single photo for this. Have fun!
Required level: 10+ or higher. Status: finished. Check out the winners below!
k5683: how to we layer them in photoshop? combine them using what method? If we just put them layer of layer, the top layer is going to be out of focus. Do we duplicate the original photo then change the layer method to "lighten" then duplicate that layer and then blurr that one with the same layer method of "lighten"? ( 5 years and 2370 days ago )

meatman: IMO, you are taking a nice photo and transforming it into one that is not as nice. But thats just my opinion. ( 5 years and 2369 days ago )
robvdn: @meatman: it's a technique to add a dreamy look to a photo, just like with HDR it is the trick to use the right photo and how to apply this technique. Personally I think 90% of all HDR entries are overdone but that's personal. Just see this contest to learn and explore a new technique. Big part of PXL is about learning.
