Contest goal:

This tournament runs for 4 weeks, week 1 is 'open for all', which means everyone can enter. Week 2 only the top 16 members of week 1 will be able to participate, week 3 the top 8 members of week 2 and in week 4 the top 4 members of week 3. The winner of round 4 will be crowned king or queen of Pxleyes!
The final rounds winner will be awarded with bluetooth headphones!
You can choose between these (available in white or black) or these.

Week 2, 3 and 4 will be posted on Thursdays but will be opened for entries on Sundays after the previous round is closed, when the next participants are known. If you participate, be aware you might have to re-enter next rounds too!

Rounds 2, 3 and 4 will have 2 reserve players each. These will be the 2 runners up of the previous round, in the list with names who are allowed to enter their names will be followed by "(reserve 1 or 2)".
Reserves are allowed to enter their entry whenever they want BUT be aware:
if all qualified members for that round enter: ALL the entries by the reserves will by removed when the contest goes into voting. If one or two qualified members fail to enter one or two reserves are allowed to stay in the contest when the contest turns into voting.
Those removed entries will be allowed in the Anything goes (or other fitting) contests later on.

The theme for this contest is: best stock
It's time to take some stock photos for others to use in their art work. It's not as easy as you might think to take a good stock photo. There is a reason why some pictures get picked over and over again to be used in art work.
Remember to take in to account the light, the background, the focus and subject for your photo. You should also vote for pictures you would really want to use in your artwork.
As a reward the first place winner of this contest will be featured as the next week photo to use in the photoshop contest. Have fun and good luck!

friiskiwi: I do hope our 'Choppers' will comment on the photos they would like to use. ( 5 years and 2387 days ago )
BeSea: I am not really clear about what type of photos you are looking for here and I see a very wide variety of entries. Are you looking for isolated subjects that can be removed easily from the photo, landscape background settings, unusual statues or subjects, people or objects, whole items or partial crops, etc. Alittle more guidance as to what you consider "stock", please. jerostone: BeSea is quite right. Give us some clues here. ( 5 years and 2384 days ago )
Layzee: Am I missing the point here, I have read some of the comments on the submitted photos and the theme seems to be how well suited the photo is to being shop'd, but in the theme it says "as a reward" so my question is surely you need to enter the photo that you think will get you through to the next round regardless of how good it will be in shop.
TBH I am not a shop'r but to me the aim of this element of the overall competition is to be selected to go on to next round ? ( 5 years and 2384 days ago )
Layzee: oops didn't see that underneath the pictures lol ( 5 years and 2384 days ago )
Wayne Cheah: In a way this Tournament is unique in the sense that in past Tournament competitions, you submit your best themed photos hoping to get through to the next round; but the present competition has an added requirement in that the winning entry will also be featured as a theme for a photoshop contest. This means that your "stoke" photo must not only be photographically good, but must also be desirable for "others to use in their art work" Thus Friiskiwi asked the "choppers" to comment on the entries because the winning entry will be their next photoshop project. So a beautiful sunset, though spectacular as a photo, may not be useful as a stoke photo to be used for a photoshop art work. ( 5 years and 2383 days ago )
Contest Moderator: This is not an "Anything Goes" contest, it is about submitting the best stock images to be used for the PS contests. As Wayne Cheah states, putting in a lovely images that is visually appealing and useless as stock will probably not get you through to the next round if members vote according to the theme.
