Maybe some closer cropping would have made it more on theme. Even blurry, the element of the sea is more than evident in the picture, but then again IMHO

I agree with Jerostone. For this contest (with those rules) the bird might have been shot in another spot with another background, which is in conflict with what is written in the contest rules.
