We've seen them in sci-fi flicks, but they rely on CGI. There are plenty of places on good ol' planet Earth that can look alien. Use perspective, DOF, or whatever technique you can (within the PXLeyes' rules)to convince us you've visited another planet. Give the name of your planet, and a brief description of it, in the description. People and animals should only be included if they actually LOOK alien.
The sun beams match the terrain perfectly. The roots (I think) on the ground remind me of Men in Black 2, the alien that grew the tendons (I think that is the word I am looking for) that took up the whole headquarters. The perception of this image makes me feel as if they are reaching out for me. I would have love to have seen what this would have looked like if you had been lower to the ground

Thanks a lot for your detailed comment. I will keep in mind to take some shots of the same landscape at different angles.
The Andalusian Ice Cliffs of Triton, one of the moons of Neptune. Island-sized ice occasionally falls, then floats, then dissipates into the methenated ether. (5 years and 2375 days ago)
This picture is so dramatic and powerful, if you captured this image you were very lucky to have been there! This is something I would hang in my house.
kandistar, welcome to the site, it's great to see you entering comments, but your comment
' if you captured this image " is insulting. All photographs uploaded here has to be taken by the person uploading them. If you suspect they didn't take the photo, please place a comment in the 'contact mod' box.
I am so sorry my wording was wrong I so did not mean that, just now when I went back and read what I wrote again I am pretty sure my heart stopped. that is a really big oops and bad impression from the get go. What I had meant to say was basically you were lucky to have been there to have captured this. ( Note to self; don't comment on photos while there are things going on around me) I seriously did not mean it in that way. When I saw this picture I was thinking how many people would get the opportunity to be in that place at that moment when the clouds were rolling down the hill. I absolutely LOVE this picture

The Venusian Plains, where photodisassociated water and sulfuric acid carve paths in the sand below the hydrogen storms of the third continent. (5 years and 2375 days ago)
This is a really beautiful image is it possible to see what it looked like straight out of the camera? This really does look like it is from another planet and your creative description describes the picture and mad me look up again after reading it. Also was this done with film?
author says:
It was not done with film. Send me a PM and I will send you the uncropped version of the picture, although I no longer have a straight out of the camera version. The levels have been tweaked.
Thank you for your compliment!

If it weren't for the clouds, it would have been the number one lunar, or anyhow extraterrestrial landscape. And no, I'm not getting judgmental or anything, for goodness sake! This is a great picture. I'm just saying...
