Have to comment on shots like these.
I really like the concept and the overall composition is good but the spoiler here is the Author in the center of the shot.
It unfortunately is very distracting from a otherwise great shot.
The trick with these kind of shots is to be self-obscure and not turn it into a "Selfie" I think finding another angle or perhaps positioning yourself near the surroundings would achieve your desired results.
