note...this is one of those cutting edge Polaroid pictures that squeezed out of the camera, and developed magically right before your eyes... I just scanned it, so I'd have, and be able to post it if the situation came up... [thus the funky quality]
Are you bragging or apologising?
Apologize for bragging...brag for apologizing. (clear as mud when the best education teaches us to ask better questions...) - That's what happens when we have to crop the heads off...
Yes, strange part of the the goal, most 'bodies' look better with a head.
Honestly, I appreciate the desire to take part in these contests but,
is this not way sub-par and counter to the goal of this site?
Just my opinion.
Agreed...and not... "Is this supposed to be 'art', or just perfect photography? What's the difference? Is the image "way sub-par" because of the odd quality, or because it's a candid shot of a guy fixing a vacuum cleaner in his underwear rather than a black and white nude beauty lit just so? - Of course we have to judge according to some objective, universal standard that exist for good reasons. We also have to be fluid enough to set those dry RULES of Art aside sometimes.
[not to mention it being a depiction of a body... Sub-par and counter to a goal probably describes most of them...]
Excuse me author but, MymindsEye is right.
I don't agree with what you say about "art" or "perfect photography".
So, according to your words "art" is not perfect ?
IMHO, It's not because your picture depicts "a guy fixing a vacuum cleaner" that I don't find it a good picture. For me it's because the quality is poor, because absolutely nothing is focussed (where can the eye attention be attracted ?), because the framing is strange, because a fiew elements are disturbing the attention, because for me your force line leads to the vacuum (or here, the main subject should be the body)...
If for you it's not a "photography", don't call it "art" either please !
EXACTLY.
Kudos Artifakts!
Howdie stranger!
