awediot: To judge how well an image -exposes/identifies the 'essence' of a specific subject- assumes the viewer knows what that essence is and can measure how close the picture comes... Quite the nearly omniscient task we set ourselves up for here...both in boldly submitting a piece and in critiquing each other (or merely rating the efforts)... The sensitive soul of artists needing to be wrapped in a pretty thick skin paints a perfectly logical paradox. ( 5 years and 2228 days ago )
