Lapidary is the art of cutting stones (I also do some metal smithing). A hobby I have to help keep me from running the streets. At the top is a pendant on Reticulated Silver. It has Mexican Fire Opal (the orange) and a natural black Tourmaline crystal. Below that is a piece of "Fordite." Fordite is not a real stone. It comes from the painting rooms of the old auto factories. Car after car was painted, and the paint built up on the walls in layers. Grinding it in certain ways reveals interesting and fun patterns. The bottom pendant is Green Wyoming Jade on silver. The ring on the left is Ruby in Zoisite, and the ring on the right is Rhodochrosite. (5 years and 1474 days ago)
This is a knife, I like to imagine a "caveman" might have made. The blade is made from carved Wooly Mammoth tusk ivory (being from an extinct animal, the ivory is completely legal), and it's set into a deer antler for the handle. The end-cap is a carved piece of "Tiger's Eye." This way is just to display it, how to hold it to fight off Cave Bears can be seen in the SBS. (5 years and 1474 days ago)
