Processing Power - Photography Contest [23 entries]

Lucca Picture

Winning entry, with a score of:
63.3%
Contest goal:

We all know when we take a photo it takes a certain amount of post processing to turn the image you capture in the camera to the image we imagine in our minds. This contest is all about showing the original image taken directly from alongside the finished processed image to demonstrate just how important and how powerful processing our images can be.

Status: finished. Check out the winners below!

friiskiwi: It should probably have been pointed out, that normal rules apply to this contest.
No adding or removing things from the photograph. ( 5 years and 1434 days ago )
Dmitry: If no adding or removing things from photograph, then what PROCESSING POWER means? Simplly tweaking Hue and Saturation or Shaddows/Highlights doesn't requiere any POWER (imho).
The Contest title should be "Coloring Power" in such case.
BTW, If I take the picture with B&W setting in my camera and colour later in photoeditor, will it also be disqualifyed?
Thank you all for your adequate undestanding ( 5 years and 1433 days ago )
WYSIWYG: I think there is some confusion between retouching and processing. I think they are two different things. ( 5 years and 1433 days ago )
friiskiwi: This contest is about how you can improve an image not make a different image. Most straight out of the camera needs some adjustments, straightening, cropping, light and colour adjustments, perhaps some dodging and burning.
We do not encourage removing or adding things on this site, except when we have a Photo+ contest.
This is not a Photo+ contest, or as WYSIWYG pointed out, not a retouch contest. ( 5 years and 1433 days ago )
Contest Moderator: The normal photography rules apply to this theme. The two photos should appear together, not in an SBS. As mentioned above, the theme refers to things like levels, curves, cropping etc., NOT the adding or removal of objects. ( 5 years and 1433 days ago )

A bit of portrait retouching for my young model. Original shot with 85mm f/1.8 Portrait lens to get the nice bokeh. (5 years and 1433 days ago)
