Most likely you were thrilled to get this shot. It has many delightful features of patterns that repeat both on ceiling and floor and you composed it centered and it works with the strength of the pews. To my eyes, you have too much of a good thing, this is opposite to the KISS principle. From the high ceiling, the star catches our eyes, the ceiling , the lights , the pews, the floor and the focal point are the people? An all encompassing shot with a considered dof and point of view to take this from an ordinary photograph and transport it into the extraordinary. A lot of work went into this.

I am a great fan of chiaroscuro and this is so appropriate for this image which speaks to us through shadows of history. It feels old and damp and has a deep rich history. It is too bad you cut off the halo and tip of the statue's head but it is a photo full of history.

Not all churches have towering steeples, or gorgeous stained glass windows - but the people going may have just as much love and faith. (5 years and 961 days ago)
Love your artist's notes, yes so true. Humble, simple yet welcoming and that is what caught your eye. Well exposed, sharp, and I'm glad you left that photographic information at the right to further flush out details of locale of this place of worship. It is a church I wouldn't hesitate to enter, not like some other overpowering cathedrals or temples.

Not many people put up photos of people praying or worshipping so I take my hat off to you for being brave. I love photos like this that tell us a story of another place, another time, another culture. Had her eyes been on the incense or on the statuette it would have been a more powerful image. Our photography teachers used to tell us sometimes it is worth waiting for the photograph to be born. I still like this shot and think it is an excellent entry.
