I thought I had complied with the contest on two levels. First there is the green as you note. But the overall theme is "golf", showing the golf course, etc. But I defer to your judgment and certainly appreciate your close eye on complying with contest rules.
Like your composition giving room to breathe. Also you shot this at exactly the right moment. The tonal contrast could be stronger tho' to give it a richer feel.

Thanks, still. This was an absolutely miserable day for golf. Tonal contrast was a real issue.
The fellow in the green shorts looks skewered onto those pegs and I had a laugh. There may be a confusion of information here, there is a lot and the amputation of a person distracts especially like that on a margin line. When you have objects on a margin line, what happens is that our brains fill in the missing parts and then poof, out we go out of your image. I do however think the story line is superb even if the gypsy is almost giving you the finger! Please check your horizon line which is tilting to the left.

The common goldeneye is a diving duck. This is the male in its breeding colors, having wintered in the San Francisco Bay area. (description added for clarification) (5 years and 975 days ago)
You are incorrect. The bird's name is goldeneye, more specifically "common goldeneye". As such, it clearly fits the requirements of the contest. Here's the wikipedia entry in case that would be helpful: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_goldeneye
Thank you.

Photograph something starting with the letter G, in English.
We are looking for objects. Not names of people, places or adjectives.
If not obvious, please name the object.
A handsome boy indeed. A different composition, giving him more room to flow into (following rule of 3 in photography) would strengthen the shot. A few pops of overexposure evident. Are you shooting on A mode or Manual? Do try manual, just bite the bullet and you will see your creative powers will increase.

Great comments as always, still. I was shooting in S mode to get the droplets sharp. You're going to get me out of the "birder shot" mentality!
It depends. What appeals to you and me artistically doesn't necessarily translate commercially. The smack dab centered birds on a note card are really popular.
This is a grand environmental portrait and I love the warmth that the colours generate and the warmth of that face. Good one. Have you considered a portrait format?
