Holy Guacamole, this is MY phobia, which I have worked at trying to overcome. I love the depth of your post, the story of life and death. It is a well composed image with plenty of marginal space all around. You have exposed it exquisitely, no blow outs on the white. The detail can been seen, not only on the underbody of "lunch" but on that grizzly spider. Yes, on this side of the planet, not only are his eyes sharp but they are a hideous yellow clearly seen. You have used your dof wisely, his body softens. In photography, if the eyes are sharp all other sins are forgiven. Top notch work in my book. I am not liking the border, but that is just me, I have difficulty with borders, never quite know if I like them or not. Here with your border it seems to be a distraction from the main subjects, almost like a straw that is in the way, it doesn't work....however, I bow to artistic prerogative and honor yours.

I have taken off the border. You are right on what you say about it, it spoiled a bit. At a time I used to frame my photos a lot, but not anymore. And when you post on Pxleyes, there is already a discreet frame anyhow.
Good macro, but it is a shame that the sharpness is not on the eyes of the crab spider
Thanks for your comments. You are such a nice person...

Ahhh I see, yes it's cleaner. Sometimes borders hold the image in for a reason so then it is a good thing to use them.
