I like the close tight crop and no it does not bother me that some of the leaves have been nipped as this crop keeps us in on your image. It looks to me like this was taken during high contrast time, afternoon sharp light and you DID NOT blow out the whites, looks like you understand exposure settings and you and your camera have become best friends. I wonder if you had cropped down a bit more, yes you would have nipped off even more leaves but would have eliminated the bars....hmmmm artistic decision I know....I bow to yours.

thanks for the comments, can see what you are getting at,but will leave it as it is
This photo of a rose oozes out at me. It oozes the colour orange, but in delicate softness. It oozes details out but feels soft and fragile. I LOVE IT a very strong entry with focus on the rose and softness through the background. I also think you did a spot on job with marginal space giving enough room for this rose to bounce in the breeze and our eyes to gather information on the environment of the rose. The photograph glows with orange lusciousness. Top notch and thank you.
I like this photo for two reasons: 1. It is artistic, it touches my heart with it's beauty and 2. because you know the name of this wee beast! The colours are coordinated, they are orange, (I guess that would be point 3.) A bit more room at the top would not have hurt as the poor bug's antennae are about to get hit by the margin. A beautiful entry.

Thank you Still26. I do not know the name of the bug though, I can check it if you wish. Camaieu means that the colours are coordinated, as you wrote

Camaieu....a new word for me....yipeee. Thank you.
How do you do that? I mean what do I have to do to find out names of bugs and flowers like you do. I won't be able to try it here because the internet sucks but how do you find out with such ease...?
author says:
I asked Google "black butterfly red dots" and looked at the images which appeared. One of the images shown the insect with its name, so I typed the name and "Wikipedia". Sometimes it is more tricky. For example, if I was searching for the name of the orange flowers, what should I ask to Google? Orange flowers, petals, I would have thousands of different types of orange flowers I guess and it could take time to find the one I want. Yes, sometimes it is more difficult
Sometimes I feel stupid and sometimes I'm sure I am. I often ask Uncle Google questions but never thought of that...now I am wiser Thank you once again.
