Every good photographer should know a few things about 'the rule of thirds'. This contest requires that you show your knowledge about it, in the best way possible.
For the ones who are not familiar with it, in this tutorial you can find out more. Anything and everything allowed in the picture, as long as it follows this rule.

The horizon line tilts to the Left. If you doubt this just scroll your photo to the hard line of the computer screen and it will become evident to you....I think.
Oh my, what a noble post of the "king of the house"!...such majesty is felt here and there is no argument who is boss. I think the off-center works here and the non-obstructive background further enhances the main focal point. It is a meaty post, well contrasted, pin sharp on the eyes for when the eyes are in focus all smattering of sins are forgiven. It is my own personal feeling but the marginal space at the top could come down somewhat and that would make Oscar even larger than he already is....but that is just my own preference.....meow! Purrrrrrrrrfect, top of the shelf work.
A most respectable photograph in monochrome with a vast range of tonality. Slight vignette really accentuates the seagull and our eyes are held to your image. A well-balanced photograph and your shutter speed is perfect to freeze the gull in flight and show details of his feathers. By presenting this photograph it demonstrates to the viewer how you and your camera are best friends.

A whimsical upload in rich saturated colours that make this image work! Well comoposed with dynamic lines that take our eye on a death defying plunge and stops our breath. .....what fun!
