Probably one of my most favorite pictures I've ever taken. See the eyes? I always thought it reminded me of one of the trees in the Wizard of Oz, with his evil haunting eyes, Grinch-like smile and branches for arms that are reaching out to get you! Maybe you just need to see it in high res. ;-)
Added sepia tone and removed my signature with healing brush (because I had to)
I discovered a technique that can greatly improve focus when limited on accessories (tripod) and creates a new and unique perspective: point the camera strait up. Then find your subject for shooting up shot and set the camera on the ground, pointing strait up. Then set the timer setting (a couple seconds should be fine) Use the 2 second time to get out of the shot. It gives you more in your shot because the camera is not as close as say if you just took it looking strait up and it improves the photo's focus because the ground is perfectly steady. I've really captured some unique shots with this simple technique using a very worn out and beat up Canon Elph, power shot 8.0. I've used this technique many times. Pictures come out much more in focus. It may seem simple but it makes a big difference and just might be a whole new world you never knew existed...
... until you look up. :-) (5 years and 3600 days ago)
