This is Long Lake just outside of Palmer, Alaska. I've always wanted to live in Alaska so when the Army sent me there, I was in paradise. The only way to describe the beauty there is "overwhelming". It is simply gorgeous, and to me, paradise on earth.
My first entry in a photography contest so go easy on me :)
I took this photo last fall. It was a rather grey day so I brightened it up a bit and tried to bring out the fall colors. (5 years and 3641 days ago)

Beatiful colors. tho i thing the beach shold have been "Longer" (have more space in the frame)
It's called "long" lake, not "wide" lake (Sorry, just being a wizenhimer) Actually the beach I'm standing on is little more than a concrete boat ramp and it would not have made for a very good picture. The lake itself is probably near a half mile long but not very wide at all. Someone with a good arm could probably throw a rock all the way across it.
Maybe you should cut the beach out of the frame? It somehow limitates the view. Yet I understand what your paradise is...
Well. then crop away the "beach"
It's the little things, like cropping, that separate the professionals from the rest of us. I guess that looks better. Thanks for the advice. Any more would be appreciated.
Very pretty shot
wow! that is so prestine and peaceful looking!
Congrats for your third place, Chaplain!
