My wife wanted some arty shots a little while ago so we played around with some Ideas. Hope this fits this contest, By the look of some other entries it should be ok. I wanted to show her how beautiful she was through photography. (5 years and 3613 days ago)

Nice try but her face was something you should have concentrated...
While I suppose this shot is fine for a husband and wife, I'm not sure it's appropriate for this site, which has children as members.
i dont think theres anything wrong with the shot content wise but it doesnt really do anything for me. id have been tempted to shoot mono with a much larger aperture and low key lighting
I see no harm in terms of moral or imoral... It is a great shot, but it sure does not convey love to me... it conveys lust, passion...
While I agree with your comments for adults, I hardly think a crotch shot is appropriate for the 12 and 14 year olds on here, aside from the inherent message of this shot about what "beauty" and "love" is. Maybe if it included the whole body, but it's obvious what the focus is here.
Personally, I don't see a problem with this shot..........I would not consider this a 'crotch' shot, as you cannot see it!!....there have been, and still are, far more provocative shots in contests here at pxl, this one is quite harmless up against some of them. No one complains when a young lady is shot in a skimpy bikini and entered.........!!
I feel I should comment as this has caused some controversy. To start with the description says.....'Many people say that 'You don't love a woman because she is beautiful, but she is beautiful because you love her.' Show us how you interpret this quote the best way you can, through your photography skills'. This is how I portray this image. This is a subjective topic, therefore your opinion is just that, Your opinion. 2nd of all, If 12-14 year olds haven't yet seen legs, I'd be very worried. Plus, You see alot more flesh nowadays in teen magazines and Brirtey spears videos.....
Not to mention the lyrics these children (12-14) are listening to.3rd, Can you please point out the crotch, I have the high res version and still can't see it. Last but not least, You should see my other pictures.... They would get you talking
I have no moral objections, but feel this is more about lust than love.
Sorry I struck a nerve. You're right. It's just my opinion. As I said, I have zero problem with this picture - for adults. If this is how you interpret love for your wife, that's your business. For me, I love my wife more for what she has between her ears than her legs. You downplay where the eye is drawn (my only point was for kids). The lines of the legs, as well as our subconscious, immediately draws the eye to one place - as evidenced by the comments "you can't see anything." How would you know if you didn't look? Personally, I tried to teach my sons NOT to look up women's dresses.
kyricom, I only looked because you said you could see it!..........as for the eyes being drawn to the point, mine were not..........I looked at the lines yes, but not as you state. the author is quite right about the teen mags......and I think you are over reacting.........only my opinion of course...
I never said you could "see" anything. Teen mags are irrelevant. If you want to raise your kids based on their values, have fun living in the world they create. I don't think I'm "overreacting" to anything. I'm not on some crusade to get this picture removed or anything. I simply made an observation. However, I do think it's kind of silly to deny the obvious focal point of the shot. Like I said... fine for adults. 12 year olds are inundated with enough already. Don't need it here too.
Well... this will for sure win the most commented photo!lol As I said, no moral judgement from my part for the shot... But, author, I'll be very honest with you... take it easy... as much as you have the right to publish the picture, people are entitled to comment on it, as long as the discussion is kept "clean", right?
actually, I agree w/ Ade...was drawn more to the lines and angles created. interesting take on theme and on topic in my opinion. (my children have seen more revealing statues/paintings at the Phillidelphia Museum of Art).
Nice! Good job
Howdie stranger!
