I filled the frame with the water pouring over a waterfall for this shot, unfortunately there was quite a breeze so the ultimate effect of having the few leaves was lost :-( Exposure time was 0.3s at F/20 (5 years and 3609 days ago)

I dont know how close you were to the leaves but a rear sinc flash (flash goes of at the end of exposure) MIGHT have sharpened the leaf edges.
