Jawsh, no, it isn't tomatoes, it is one kind of persimon, actually here, in Egypt all persimons called cakis.

If you don't know a caki and have the opportunity to try one, do it; it's simply sweet! Some people prefer it well ripe and soft; I prefer it hard. There are some kinds of caki that are acrid and need to be treated before eating, but there are no acid ones.
they are also known as Sharon Fruit..............
In Cyprus you call them Sharon fruit... It's very feminine!
