Crossed knives resemble crossed swords, which is a symbol for war. Therefore it's bad luck to cross knives as well.

I decided to go for a rather dark picture to create a better mood. I mean, bad luck is far from being all nice and happy, isn't it? (5 years and 3553 days ago)

I agree with low-key photos, as they are a favorite of mine to shoot, but in this case, your lighting is a bit off as the knife on the left totally blends in with the surface and is lost. Nice try, just experiment with your lighting a bit more in the future

Oh great...seems like my first comment disappeared. Oh well, I'll hopefully be able to say again what I said before or something close enough.

So...I don't really have any lighting but only an external flash which I'm not fully able of using either. The other issue I'm having is I don't have a nice background to use either. The glass table that I used for this picture doesn't quite do it the way I'd like to.
