Interesting. With the B&W creating a pattern between the pipe and the ground, you might try rotating the shot 90 degrees counterclockwise - putting the shadow unexpectedly on top

Great shot, but I'm not sure if the pipe is more dirty than it is actually "corroded".
santadog, try looking at the hi res, that is definately corrosion........
Maybe in color?
