2 pieces of white paper were used as a background.
The bulbs were balanced with glue.
An external flash was aiming behind the bulbs,straight to the paper(was fired about 5 times within 4 sec) in order to have the bulbs silhuette & a solid but "intentionally" BOH background. (5 years and 3599 days ago)

How are they standing ?
I think they are standing on those sticky museum gums...
I feel there isn't so much a clash of times here, but nice shot.
I still use the "old" ones. The "new" ones have a coating of mercury on the inside, but they don't really advertise that when they're touting how "green" they are.
