The new bottle is in front(and in full focus) to show that it's the present. The old bottle is little more towards the back and slightly out of focus to show that it's fading away as it's the past. (5 years and 3608 days ago)

... and how old is the old one?
I don't actually know. I received it from my dad ages ago and and by that time he has had it already for ages. They haven't sold that kind of bottles for a long time either, so if I'd had to guess I'd say 20-30 years.
