But as always if the photographer is skilled, then the camera sometimes doesn't matter. 
Thank you Jawshoewhah...but occasionally the camera matters, this was about the limit of that camera and really required a bit of trial and error to get it right. With the current equipment, this would have taken one or two shots...but you're correct that even the best equipment is useless unless you have basic skills...thanks again my friend
