Swordfish, seriously I think the author would rather have honestly than kindness. Author this shot is badly pixelated and appears out of focus on the low res. I imagine you shot this with a very low mega-pixel camera, a phone camera perhaps. Most cases, a Gaussian blur would improve but in this case it seems that it would have just made the OOF quality worse. I think re-shooting with different light and another setting would have been your best bet.
Just out of curiosity, what type of camera are you using?
