fe·tish - noun - c : an object or bodily part whose real or fantasied presence is psychologically necessary for sexual gratification and that is an object of fixation to the extent that it may interfere with complete sexual expression.
Fishnet stockings, high heels and Nagel art have all been considered a fetish at time, including myself. I've always found them arousing just to look at, especially the Nagel print. Nagel art became extremely popular with the magazine, Playboy. All he painted were women. Patrick Nagel died of a heart attack in 1984 at the age of 38, but his art lives on. there might be copyright issues with this.......please check.
In my opinion, the shoe should have had the focus.
How would there be a copyright issue if I added my own item to the photo, making it an artistic take?
k5683: I've seen your portfolio. Why don't you learn how to take a photo yourself before you critique anyone because you need help.
WOW!! Haven't you ever heard of something called constructive criticism? AND just because someone can't take a photo as well as others, does not mean they can't tell when a photo looks good or not! Take a chill pill and quit being so defensive.
I may be a lower level than you, but my photography average isn't that far behind yours.
Again, I think this would be a very alluring picture if the shoe had focus and the picture in back was a bit out of focus in the background. Take it as you want I guess.
Nice idea, but you have lost too much detail in the shoes
Author, really no need for the snappy comments when it was clearly stated as an opinion. PERSONALLY I agree with you having the focus on the art, but a little more detail on the shoe would have been nice. Peace
I think (just my opinion for what it's worth) this shot might have been better with better lighting - the stockings have a shadow falling across the face of the art work and the shoes themselves are in shadow - I'm not a lighting expert but if the light was from the other direction would minimise the shadow. Good idea though
the copyright issue might be with you shooting and showing Nagel's artwork without permission.....I am not saying there is a problem, only that there might be.
very very nice...i hope this photo will stay...best of luck author
Well I have no idea where to start to even find out permissions, especially since it's a print I own. I don't perceive it as a copyright violation myself because it is an artistic take, meaning, rather than just shooting strait on, I put items into the frame and only took on a small portion of the print.
I am aware the shoes may not seem as in focus as the rest of the subjects in the shot but I wanted more attention to the fishnet stockings and the Nagel, for the shoes are obvious. I think it worked out better than worse but you may share a different opinion
Howdie stranger!
