Great shot, but so similar to one you entered recently, that we will all know who you are.
I think friiskiwi is right, your shot was great to see in High Res. This one also...
Excellent action shot..
Used before. Apparently there has been a rule change and you can no longer use the same image again.
If you think i posted the same pic why dont you look to see if i did, before accusing me.
I didn't say you had used it before, but is is so obviously taken at the same place and time (more or less) as your very successful recent photo.
Actually I think this misunderstanding may arise again in the future: on the one side the contest rules request anonymous shots, on the other one authors usually make several shots of the same thing/event so it would be a pity not to place several nice shots if on theme with different contest themes.
The rule could be "no similar shots in one and the same the same contest" which would allow authors to use different shots (of the same event) in different contests.
Mods' opinion?
Friskiwi i was referring to fallinghorse's "used before " comment
Looking at the comments, I have to agree with Cocor. This is a different contest, and it's definitely a different shot, and a good one too. To be honest, I don't actually remember who the author is, I will of course as soon as I vote,, but it's the shot that I remember, and well done for having such a memorable photograph, considering the hundreds we look at each week just on this site.
I will cast my vote.
This shot is very similar to one used in another contest but since it is in fact a different shot in a different contest it will be allowed to stay.
this is a great shot, but it looks like a lot of tonal contrast has been used, or maybe high clarity. It sort of takes some of the reality of the shot away for me, and makes it more 'poster' like.
Well adien it hasn't. Just slight contrast to remove some of the haze.Very little has been done to this pic. It was very bright day in 100 degree weather. Have you been to moto cross event? Just trying to figure out your point of reference.
I go to many moto events, and I know there is a lot of debris in the air. It just looked to me like a high tonal contrast shot, I didn't say it was though. There is a heavy haze in the background, but the motorcycles in the foreground, along with the debris, are very stark. It is still a great capture whatever way you look at it.
Its stark because there is no one in front of the front bike. If you notice the bikes get more hazy as you follow the bikes back. You see more dirt and more exhaust heat as you go. The last bike is almost an orange blob.
