It's a clever idea. So what did you do? Photograph the books first and then piece pictures together on photoshop or something? It's definitely a good example of thinking outside the square.

Thank you all for the comments. Yes, Josh, I photographed the books first, but there was no photoshop in this picture at all. I piled the books on the table in the manner depicted in the final shot. Then I stood on a chair over the table and took different shots of them from different angles. I printed those shots in B&W as 8 by 10's. Then, I arranged the 8 by 10's on the table, overlapping to re-create the original "stack." I placed the book and glasses on top of the photos, stood on my chair again, and took the final shot. No Photoshop - Old School, baby!
