Thinking about this quote reminded myself of my trip to Africa.
This artwork is on the side of a school, in fact the best school in the district, not all the students can afford required textbooks and so the teachers painted some equations on the side of the building for all the students to appreciate.
To me this relates to the quote because the "art" is obvious, the "lie" is what we in the developed world tell ourselves to excuse that we could be doing more to help but do not and the "truth" is the desperation of the locals plight.
Also as an interesting side note; one of the formula's was incorrect but we didn't have the heart to tell the headmaster. (5 years and 3246 days ago)
