Is the lighting exactly the same for these two? Seems the first one's lighting isn't as nice as the second one. The detail is much clearer in the second. Great shot though!

I quite agree, but the lighting and exposure was exactly the same, I can only assume it's the way the wine picks up the light that makes the difference.
An once the glass was broken I couldn't re-take the first one.

yeah that's what I was thinking too...that the wine had something to do with how the light caught the glass.

The lighting does appear to be a little different, but I think the minor difference is accentuated by the fact that the broken glass gives more surfaces for the light to reflect off of, making it more noticeable

Thats what I was thinking, the lighting relected more off the broken glass. It is a brilliant photo!
