Also it seems pretty obvious that you just rolled you finger in creating this effect.. (maybe you did it for intention I don't know) it just doesn't look that convincing to me..
Overall it still has an interesting feeling to it!
Reduced color/tones a little. I was trying to keep the red real red to be eye-catching and to compensate since I wasn't committed enough to actually cut my finger off.

Exactly my thought, locksmagic. Out of our ten fingers, we can always sacrifice just one, for the sake of artistic achievement, heh heh! Nice try, author.
make sure its not ur right index finger cause then i dont know what you plan to do for photography :P
