I really like this photo, apart from the white paper in the front which keeps grabbing attention.
I agree with Vibeke, but you might be able to fix it with a little judicious cropping. If you cropped from the left about a third of the way into the orange jar, and up from the bottom to the top of the white paper, you'd have essentially the same shot but without the distracting white.
This was not a set-up shot, or the paper would not have been there. i agree with you both. I debated over the merits of leaving it and allowing more "breathing space" for the crayons and jars or removing it to get rid of the distraction. I think that it is better this way, too, without the blob of white.
