But in my first year in high school, as a matter of tradition, every student learned math with a slide rule (like my father), it was abolished in favor of calculators in the next year, but I kept mine as a museum piece since then... Nice perspective. It was probably good they made you use slide rules. Calculators train us to not know how to do stuff ourselves.
Indeed, they and you are correct ... I Think that life today is easier at first, but it takes its toll up front, where some end up not preparing fully for the facilities previously found, but this may also be a thought of who is getting old ...
