Was a joke......come one people vote
It takes a while for a piece to get votes. I've had my work up for 2 hours before it got a single vote. Be patient
like your sense of humor! Good luck
My vote will be low, not because of the message, but because, like too many entries, the quality is rotten.
Over exposed and OOF.
Seeeeeeeeeeee
I agree with you TC!! Sometimes too stiff but alot more too soft on the votes. Every voter should leave a comment to explain why they vote
I have a feeling that depending on the quality of the comment it could affect how people ultimately vote
I'm at a loss to know what you mean, by too soft on the votes?
As for leaving a comment on how we vote, what would that achieve, as the votes are anonymous, and you never now who voted high and who voted low on your entries.
I have experience in photography groups on Facebook in my country, where we compete with pictures like here, but we don't have anonymity on votes like here and everytime problems arise, this is one of the great merits of Pxleyes...
And you can give low votes when the photo deserves without leaving sad your friend, or getting an enemy by that...
I agree completely
But it is easy to see that the formula works, rarely are not the best pictures at the top (not necessarily our choice, but hardly a bad picture), this is a good sign ...
A point I was trying to make was that depending on the tone of the comment left or how it is phrased politely or harshly it might ultimately sway how people vote on an entry whether they like the entry or not. I am guilty myself...if someone I have respect for slams an entry or has a harsh comment about it I might vote low because of the comment instead of taking an individual approach to whether or not I like the entry and vote accordingly
A solution to that is to vote before you read the comments. That makes it completely impartial.
I voted up
the photo is not perfect, but the idea is brilliant
beyond the commonplace
Thank you for that
all of the above comments remind me of our democrats and republicans here in the good ole USA, getting ready to go over the fiscal cliff pointing fingers at each other on the way down.
thats funny politics right there
Dear Teecee,
I guess you feel you have proven your point, get a harsh comment and you end up near the bottom of the pile. My feelings are that this photo ended up near the bottom of the pile not because of harsh comments, but be cause technically it was a bad photo.
I have many photos that have ended up at or near the bottom, with out any bad comments, they might even had good ones. In some cases I agree that the other photos were better, in other cases I have been surprised. Hopefully I learn more from my bad photos than from my good ones.
Good Luck in future contests.
