As the subject of the contest here is "mobile phone", I would have prefer the contrary. following the man with your camera so he'd be neat and the background would have been blurred. I think here you give more importance to the background than to the phone.
Hi, thank you for your comment. I do see your point. However if photography was bound by the rule that the subject should always be in focus or the focal point it would limit the discretion of the photographer. My photo does contain a mobile and fits the guide all be it is not the focal point.
Of course you fit the theme. But if I was the boss of an agency who asks for a "mobile phone" picture. I would have prefer sur subject clear. But it's just a point of view
