This was taken from over a quarter mile away. This person was photographing experienced rock climber below him. There is a half mile trail leading to an observation deck. The person is in a very dangerous place beyond where casual hikers are supposed. You will see how high this is if you look up Seneca Rocks in West Virginia. I saw him on an unrelated trail the next day and he told me he almost stepped on a huge copperhead on the way down. (5 years and 1480 days ago)
