This was done with a long LED wand with colored gels attached for a rainbow effect. I took the shot in by back yard with as much darkness as possible. I used the bulb mode and remote shutter to manage the shot. I opened the shutter, lit up the planter for several seconds with the light, then turned off the light and put the wand in side the planter and turned it on again for several seconds as I made the wave movement with it. At the end of the motion I turned the light off and closed the shutter of the camera.
