What a gorgeous memorable portrait shot and I agree with Olivia, I too don't like things that fall out (like my hair for example). The mood of this photo is precious, dimly lit, she in deep thought. It is however full of noise and that is most likely due to high ISO and low light. Also not sharp, again most likely do to shallow dof. I love the story here.
Your points are all well taken, but with the topic and story I couldn't resist sharing it.
